New Stuff

I didn't mean to buy these; it was an accident.

The Pink Parade (col 145) is a re-order as I found it works quite well either on its own or mixed with other colours. The Purple Splendor (col 129) is a new favourite, such a beautiful blend of shades. Then there's the Tropical Fruit (col 107) which is about as hideous a shade as I've ever seen. Worse even than the gross yellow I got last time.

I tried these new clover shuttles out straight away and I love them. I can't really see any physical difference between them and the normal coloured clovers but they just feel nicer.

Pattern: SweetHeart by Birgit Phelps.
Thread: Lizbeth size 20, col 623.
Technique: Shuttle tatted.

I don't care for this particular pattern but uploading as part of my 25.

Accident? LOL! Best reason I've heard yet.

OOOh, I'd love an accident like that any day!!!! Wouldn't the tropical fruit work with a plain colour. What a shame you don't like it BUT thanks for the honest 'heads up' on that!!!!

Hmmm, I hated the Tropical Fruit as well when I first pulled it out of the shipping box. Then I used it for Jane Eboral's T.I.A.S. and have found that blended with Ecru (or the matching light green shade) it becomes a lot more tolerable. Maybe it will work well with that horrible yellow you hated so much last time?
(Trying to think positive...)

I daresay I even LIKE the Tropical Fruit now, mixed with a solid.

Thanks for this great post!

I keep looking at the Tropical Fruit and while I wouldn't say it's grown on me I'm starting not to hate it quite as much. It was mostly the shock of seeing something quite so gaudy when I was expecting something a little more muted.

These really were bought by accident, honest. I believe Roseground are going to be selling the Lizbeth size 40 from February and since the beginning of January I've been checking their site nearly every day, just in case they get it in early. I was adding colours to my basket just to see what I'd buy if I was shopping for size 20 and before I knew it I'd made my payment. See? Accident!
