Pattern: Minaret from the book Tatted Snowflakes Collection by Jon Yusoff
Thread: (Lizbeth 40, col 124, spring garden)
Technique: shuttle tatting
Cute little snowflake though I don't think it works with this shade.
I was thinking of asking for a tatting book for my birthday but I'm not sure which one. So far I have the following:
(These are books I already own, sorry for the confusion)
24 Snowflakes In Tatting by Lene Bjørn
A Pattern Book Of Tatting by Mary Konior
Tatted Doilies by Iris Niebach
Tatted Handkerchiefs by Kirstine Nikolajsen & Inge Lise Nikolajsen
Tatted Snowflakes by Vida Sunderman
Tatted Snowflakes Collection by Jon Yusoff
Tatting Doilies & Edgings by Rita Weiss
Tatting Farm Animals by Christel Weidmann
Tatting Patterns And Designs by Gun Blomqvist and Elwy Persson
Tatting With Visual Patterns by Mary Konior
The Complete Book Of Tatting by Rebecca Jones
The Tatted Artistry Of Teiko Fujito by Teiko Fujito
The Tatter's Treasure Chest by Mary Carolyn Waldrep
Any recommendations?

Wait a sec... don't you have 'Tatting with Visual Patterns'? I have it and love it - but thought I'd spotted a few things you'd made from it too... ah ha! I was right: http://www.flickr.com/photos/michl_007/4279679654/
I've only got that and the Rebecca Jones book you also got via Ebay so not much extra help, but thought I should mention it!
Oh hang on - I'm an idiot. That's not 'I have on my list, which would you recommend?' It's 'I have these already'.
Gah. Ignore me.
I think this is a LOVELY motif in these colors. Jon's patterns are so cool, and I'll definitely look for 'Spring Garden' in Lizbeth.
Many of the books you already have would be on MY wish list! I have a very small collection. Until the internet came along, I never knew there WERE so many tatting books out there, and many are now self-published! So much talent! I wouldn't know where to begin to recommend one.
Certainly Patti Duff's Mini Tats book is a classic, but I believe it's out of print, and I missed getting a copy. :(
I wonder how much shelf space would be needed to display every single tatting book ever written! Good Luck on getting some good ones for your birthday!
Your Snowflake is really pretty! It looks so lovely in Spring Garden! What a pretty thing! Anyway...Happy Birthday coming up. Someone mentioned MiniTats and Patti Duff just printed off a bunch of copies in February and I got a SIGNED copy! Why don't you contact Georgia Seitz and see if she doesn't have a copy still. If she doesn't she may have Patti's email to give to you and you can write her for it. It's about 20 dollars. Mini tats is great for small motifs when you're bored. That's all it is, but many tatters love this book. I just got one to see what all the &hearts: was about when people talk about this book, LOL!

all of the above?????
So hard to make a choice. But then anything by Iris Niebach is a winner in my books.
Guess it will just come down to what you like to tat..
DER!! I did the same thing.....
Ok a recommendation....
Tina Frauberger - Schiffchenspitze
Expensive but well produced hardcover and SOOOOOO many droolworthy patterns.
I recommend Martha Ess's books for something different.
I'm so sorry for the confusion. I thought people might suggest books I already own so I put up a list. I'll try to be clear about what I mean in the future but don't get your hopes up.
Patti Duff's Mini Tats is back in publication with one of the tatting suppliers - Zigzag or Handy Hands.... I forget where I saw it, but I did! It is a TERRIFIC must have!
Just checked: $20.00 US at Zig Zag Corner... @

Go for it!
Fox : )
Well, I'm an idiot. I somehow managed to include the book Tatted Fashion by Teiko Fujito in my list of owned books when it's actually on my list of books to get. I've put in a request for this book but think I'll get the Mini Tats book myself as a number of people seem to agree that it's worth having.
YES!!
