Tatting Abbreviations

I keep finding patterns that use abbreviations without telling me what they mean. I'm relatively new to tatting so it's most frustrating. I've decided to keep a list of abbreviations which I'll add to as I come across them, rather than keeping links to multiple lists.

Mwa ha ha! I've found you, my pretty!

This tatting looks pretty cool. But until I finish all the half-finished knitting projects, NO MORE CRAFTS FOR ME!

I wasn't hiding exactly but didn't tell anyone about this blogging malarky as I'm pretty irregular.

Tatting is good because it's quite easy to pop into a small bag and take with you.

You've made a point about the abbreviations that is so true. Also in another post about the directions. I believe in writing every detail out, every rw, p, etc. Many experienced tatters feel that is redundant but when you are new, it's crucial. When I started, it took me 2-3 years to feel like I knew when to anticipate a rw or not. 12 years later, I still get confused when it is missing.

Hello Gina. I'm glad it's not just me then. It annoys me most when I don't realise till after I've completed a ring or chain so I'm starting to pay attention just after the change so I won't have to unpick too much when I go wrong.
