Pattern: Hope, from the book Tatting With Visual Patterns by Mary Konior.
Thread: Lizbeth size 20, col 122.
Technique: Shuttle tatted.

I'm not particularly fond of this thread so used it up on this pattern which I didn't expect to like but I enjoyed making it after all.

I really need to sort out my lighting before taking pictures of my tatting as it's pretty uneven and not well done. Still it's better than using a pinhole camera so I'll shut up.

I didn't realise but ❦TattingChic told me that Mary Konior passed away yesterday.

Have you got a scanner? I usually use one for my tatting - just a thought. Mary Konior was my saviour way back when she was first published. There was such a dirth of patterns then and suddenly there she was. Fantastic designer.
Lizbeth? Some like it, some don't!! I think like most threads it depends on the project!!!

I don't have a scanner but I have free standing photography lights (which I'm too lazy to move into just the right place) and a lightbox (which is currently in my old abode) so it's more about the lazy I'm afraid.

Lizbeth... I LOVE it, I just didn't like this shade as much in person as I did when I saw it online. It's funny how that happens. I have some Finca thread that I got when I wanted to learn tatting but I find it quite difficult to work with in comparison to the Lizbeth.

Isn't this funny? I'm not fond of variegated threads at all but have found that this particular one works well for small butterfly bookmarks. Yet I probably wouldn't use it for much else!!!! Vari and plain work well for me - sometimes. Like you I love Lizbeth too. I can understand the 'lazy' bit too. Not lazy really - more a case of 'just can't be bovvered'!!!!

HI M. The Caribbean is one of those color combos that each color wants to take over from the other. Looks great on larger - more open patterns. Don't give up on it!!!
Your work is really impressive.

Perhaps I'll save it for the Stawasz patterns, two birds one stone.
